A CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, and arose from the idea that the community around a farm supports the farm. They help by buying a share of the harvest early in the year when the farmer needs it most.
A farmer has to invest a lot in seed, starts, equipment, labor, and more months before a single harvest is ready. That is a lot of uncertainty and risk. The community decides to become a part of the farm by becoming shareholders for the year. They provide the essential needs to get the farm year started, while receiving their share of the harvest when crops start to mature.

What to Expect
We specialize in growing environmentally, employing some of our own unique methods developed from research and experimentation. We even go the extra mile to grow nutrient dense food to ensure your vegetables are filled with nutrients and all of the trace minerals the plant can absorb! This translates into delicious produce, environmentally grown with nature, and full of vitality for your health.
Every farm plot is an ecosystem of not only vegetables, but soil life, insects, animals, habitat, and lots of cover crop and plant roots building the soil and a healthy farm. As a result, we work with farming methods that not only do no harm, but actually rebuild the Earth and its soil. We call it regenerative agriculture.
We offer two sizes – Half and Full size shares. Half size boxes are Excellent size for a couple or a vegetarian! Full size boxes are good for a family. Of course, this all depends on how many vegetables you eat in a week, so offer the ability to upgrade your subscription if you want to try a smaller size first.
Boxes include 4-7 vegetable types per week, and usually include herbs as well. You have from 11am to 9pm to pick up your boxes on a week day. The farm newsletter comes out every week talking about the farm and the veggies, and include recipes and other things.
The season begins in May or June depending on weather and when the first crops start being harvestable. The season continues through at least December, but is determined largely by weather as well. Since we don’t ship in produce from out of state, we only operate during the growing season, and give you every moment of fresh produce possible!
Subscriptions are based on a set number of boxes, not any time period. As a result, you never lose your boxes, even if the season ends. Remaining boxes would just move to the new year.
Examples of the varieties that can be found in your box include:
Summer – Sweet, deep cherry tomatoes, La Ratte french fingerling potatoes, Red Torpedo onions, vibrant lettuce and green mixtures, lemony sorrel, cucumbers and miniature gherkins, bright fuscia Red Chidori kale, pattypan squash, squash, lemon thyme, rosemary, many basils from traditional genovese to red cinnamin to lemon, garlic scapes, sunflowers, and others!
Fall – Rich, juicy heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, German Butterball potatoes, Cippolini Onions, kohlrabi, shallots, cucumbers, lemon verbana, golden oregano, Broccoli, cheddar cauliflower, yellowstone and dragon carrots, heirloom beets, a variety of kales, lettuces, other greens, bok choy, savoy cabbage, and more delicious veggies and herbs.
